Imagine…what your smile can be!
Invisalign®
Dr. Reed is proud to have achieved this distinction as a Top 1% Diamond Provider of Invisalign, meaning he is in the Top 1% of all Invisalign providers in the WORLD! This title exemplifies his expertise with Invisalign, ensuring that you receive the very best orthodontic results possible.
Invisalign® is a system that straightens teeth by applying gentle forces against them, much in the way that braces do. The primary difference is that braces use metal brackets and wires to apply these forces whereas Invisalign® uses medical-grade plastic aligners. Each aligner is custom designed based on digital scans to place force in the ideal location so that your teeth are moved as quickly as possible.
This will vary from patient to patient. Most treatment plans run between 12-18 months, and we can usually shorten treatment time with the use of accelerating devices. We will be able to give you a better idea of how long treatment will last during your initial consultation. Call us to schedule your appointment today.
The primary benefit for the majority of our Invisalign® patients is that Invisalign® is invisible. However, we think that the greatest benefit to it is actually that you can remove it. This means that you don’t need to change the way you eat, drink, brush, or floss—which you would need to change if you had braces. This convenience is huge. Finally, since you make the adjustments yourself, we don’t see you as often, which makes it easier on your schedule.
Finally, even though we love to see you, our Invisalign® patients enjoy shorter and less frequent appointments, allowing you to enjoy more of your free time!
Overly Crowded
This-26-year old female believed there wasn’t enough room within her jaw for all of her teeth to fit normally. Her doctor told her that when left untreated, overly crowded teeth can cause dental decay, and increase in the chances of gum disease, and can prevent the normal function of teeth. She was treated with Invisalign over the course of approximately 10 months.
Crossbite
This 27-year-old female was unhappy that her upper and lower jaws seemed to be misaligned. This caused her upper teeth to bite on the inside of her lower teeth, and she could tell it was causing excessive wear. Her doctors told her this issue could also cause gum disease and bone loss. Her Invisalign treatment lasted approximately nine months.
Gapped Teeth
56-year-old male was concerned that his teeth were abnormally spaced and very far apart. His doctor told him that, while this might just seem unattractive, spacing issues in teeth can also cause some periodontal diseases. His Invisalign treatment lasted approximately 10 months.
Overbite
38-year-old female was concerned that her upper teeth overlapped her lower teeth too much. Not only is this a cosmetic issue, but it can lead to health problems later in life, so she was anxious to get it fixed. She was treated with Invisalign in approximately 20 months.
You don’t have to relearn how to eat, but you will need to adjust your diet. At first, biting pressure will be too much for your teeth to handle, though this will subside in just a few days. When you experience this, you simply stick to foods that are soft enough that you could mash them with the back of a spoon.
However, there will be foods that you must avoid throughout your treatment. These foods are avoided because they pose a great risk to your appliance, and any damage could end up hurting your results and extending your treatment time.
Making the decision to straighten your teeth is much easier when you know that Invisalign® treatment lets you live your life the way you want to. With Invisalign® aligners, you don’t need to worry about the gum and mouth irritation other teeth-straightening methods can cause.
Invisalign® aligner trays are not only smooth and comfortable to wear, but they’re also removable. That means you can continue doing all the things you normally would, from brushing and flossing, to eating whatever you like. With other devices, brushing and flossing properly can often take up to 30 minutes!
Special occasion coming up? No problem — just take your aligners out for that time and pop them back in when you’re ready. Of course, even when you’re wearing them, most people won’t even know you’re going through treatment, because they are virtually invisible!
Invisalign® treatment is also ideal for your busy schedule, with fewer doctor visits required!
Think of your teeth as a window to the health of your body. Your teeth and gums — and how they look to others when you smile—say a lot about your overall health. If you’re taking good care of both, you’re probably taking good care of the rest of you.
Tooth decay and gum disease are caused by bacteria. Left untreated, they can cause mouth sores, tender or bleeding gums, bad breath, and possible tooth loss. Studies by the American Dental Association have shown that oral infections can also lead to other more serious ailments such as heart disease, stroke, pneumonia and diabetes. Invisalign aligners make daily oral hygiene easier, thus reducing the risk of possible problems. And correctly aligned teeth can also alleviate the issues that can be caused by an improper bite, speech or chewing difficulties, jaw problems, and increased wear on the tooth enamel. Invisalign effectively addresses all of these orthodontic issues, so you’ll have the confidence of a great smile and increase the likelihood of improved oral health.
